Children’s Act 2014
Risk Assessment Questionnaire
The Children's Act (2014) requires education providers to complete safety checking of students before they begin field education, if it is likely that they could be working with a child without the presence of that child’s parent or guardian.
Before beginning field education social work programme students at the University of Waikato are required to complete this risk assessment questionnaire, a NZ police vetting check, the Student Application Form for Safety Checking under the Children's Act 2014, and provide the names and contact details of two nominated referees.
This Questionnaire will help us to assess social work students needs and suitability as they move towards field placement.
